Just when I was so bummed about the wine deal being over at Fry’s, I heard from many of you who let me know that another deal is going on through January 21st at Safeway (THANKS)! Head to the Safeway near you to save $40 off your grocery purchase (not including alcohol, tobacco, stamps, gift cards, milk, tax, and pharmacy purchases).

To make the deal even sweeeter, all wines are 30% off this week AND you’ll score an extra 10% off when buy six or more bottles.

These wines are more expensive than the wines in the Fry’s deal. Unfortunately, the BV Coastal and Sterling Central Coast varieties that we saved so much with last time aren’t on this list.

But I did come up with a nice scenerio:

Buy six bottles of the Sterling Napa County Savingnon Blanc (usually $19.99) for $12.59 each after the 30% discount and extra 10% discount. Buy $40.01 of groceries and it’s like paying $5.92/bottle for $20 wine. Not too shabby!

Be sure to take advantage of the Safeway Just for U program. I have the app on my cell phone that I load coupons and deals to as I shop. This is on top of any club card deals. There’s a personalized deals section (with deals personalized to what you buy), and a coupon center. It’s so nice to save without having to clip coupons. This last shopping trip I saved an extra $6.35 with my Just 4 U card. My goal these days is to spend less than I save!

They have a gas rewards program tied to the Club Card. Earn 1 point for every dollar you spend. Get 100 points, get $.10 off per gallon of gas at Chevron and Texaco stations. On my Just 4 U app, there was a deal for a $.20/gallon fuel discount with Safeway purchase of $30 or more! Love it!
