I visited the new Sam’s Club location in Tempe Marketplace for my What’s the Deal segment just to check on their gas prices. A gallon of Unleaded was $3.09. At the Shell station literally right across the parking lot, the price was $3.69/gallon. Since the average American fills up their tank with 12.5 gallons of gas each week, filling up at Sam’s Club instead of Shell would save $390/year. That’s significant savings ($390 savings is based on the $.60 price discrepancy staying constant)! If you have two cars, you’ll save $780! Once you get in the habit of going to Sam’s Club for gas, you’ll never want to pay more again.
