Dollar Tree is a great stop for SELECT items on your back to school list! We picked up our dry erase boards (priced at $5-$10 at other stores), our large bottles of hand sanitizer, our note cards on a ring, and tissues at Dollar Tree. Some things aren’t a great deal, you can find many item for less than a buck at other stores.
At Staples this week pick up the extreme deals. You’ll be able to get Staples glue for $.10, cap eraser for a quarter, Bic highlighter pack for $1, and other great deals. The Extreme deals change each week and if you stick to them, you’ll do VERY well! Other items that aren’t on sale can be crazy expensive.
At Office Max this week score the $.25 deals. Get a pair of scissors, a box of crayons, a Sharpie marker, a pencil box, or a highlighter for just a quarter. Items not on sale are VERY expensive compared to Walmart or Target.
Target has hot school supply deals and coupons that can make the deals even better! Text the word SCHOOL to 827-438 to get a coupon for a $5 Target gift card when you spend $25 on school supplies. That’s like 20% off!
Also use the Cartwheel app to save even more on lots of back to school items (show your app at checkout).
Check out Target printable coupons to save even more on top of that.
You’ll also get 5% off every order with a Target Red Card in store or online, head over here to get one (they have credit and debit options). You’ll also get free shipping on any size purchase.
If you want to get in and out of one store with no coupons, Walmart is probably your best bet. Head over here to check ot their Savings Catcher program. They’ll check competitors’ ads and refund the difference on a Walmart eGift card if you paid more.
Kohl’s is one of my favorite places to shop for back to school clothes, shoes, and backpacks. If you’re a Kohl’s cardholder it’s time to save 30% and get free shipping on anything! Head over here and use code SUNTAN30 to get 30% off your purchase (there are some exclusions like Nike). Use it along with code JULYMVC to get free shipping on ANY SIZE PURCHASE! The codes are good through July 19th.
If you don’t have a Kohl’s charge, use code PICNIC to take 15% off.
Everyone will earn $10 Kohl’s cash for every $50 they spend after all discounts (spend on anything in store or online July 16-26)!
If you have kids in uniforms, head over here to get a pair of Chaps shorts for $15.99, usually $28. We have a pair and they seem like they’ll really hold up! Code SUNTAN30 with a Kohl’s charge gets the price down to $11.19 and code JULYMVC gets cardholders free shipping.
This girls’ skort is marked down to $13.99 from $24. Codes SUNTAN30 and JULYMVC gets the price down to $9.79 shipped. These seem to wrinkle so much less than other brands!

If you could use a little bit of help with school supplies this year (or you know someone who could), head over here to check out the Phoenix Tools 4 School promotion hosted by the Checkered Flag Foundation July 25th from 7-10 AM.
Here’s the info they sent me:
