A few months ago I asked for your prayers for my beautiful 10-year-old niece Shannon. She has a disease called Fanconi Anemia and went to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in January for a bone marrow transplant. Her transplant went as well as it could have (thank you all so much for your prayers)! She comes home today on a private plane (she can’t be exposed to the germs on a commercial airline). She won’t have any hair for some time and will be very weak, but our family is so incredibly thankful that she’s doing as well as she’s doing. She still has a long road ahead of her, she’ll have to stay away from public places and children for at least a year or two, but things are definitely looking up.
Coincidentally, today is the first day of voting for Chase Community Giving! You can click here and vote for Fanconi Anemia to receive $500,000 of much needed research. It won’t cost you a thing, and you’ll be helping a disease that doesn’t receive much funding. Your vote is very powerful. What a great deal for everyone involved!
You can find out more about Fanconi Anemia at http://www.fanconi.org/.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, I can’t tell you how much your vote and your prayers mean to our family and to Shannon.
